Overhead Frame

Building my new overhead frame - A Boeing 737-800 Homecockpit #39

It is time to get rid of the dummy overhead frame and move on to the hopefully final version of the frame that will hold all the sections of the overhead panel. To build this I had to define all the measurements of the overhead panel sections first to come out with a frame that has already all the holes prepared to screw the panels on.

The download package includes all the sketchup drawings as well as all the needed dxf-files for cutting out the supports with your CNC and the 3D printing file for the screw cover to look like a dzuz fastener.

    Hello,

How do I know where I need to make the holes? It is not indicated anywhere.

In the Sketchup file there is a layer called measure_holes. There are all measurements displayed. I have realized that I haven’t done these measurements for the Aft Overhead. This is now updated. And if you need any additional measurements you can just use the tape measurement tool in sketchup and take the measurements you need.
By the way this overhead frame is on update list and will be released as a 3D print version in the future for weight reduction.

Mickey do you have the panel sizes for the aft overhead please. I downloaded them but they look to be way to big to fit into the Aft Frame.

All my Aft overhead panels fit into my Aft overhead frame. Maybe you have choosen a wrong unit in your program? All my dimensions are in mm.

Hi Mickey, great job. One thing I wondered, is there in any place the define of all the measurements of the overhead panel sections and all the holes prepared to screw the panels on?

    Thanks in advance
