MIP Gear Lever - A Boeing 737-800 Homecockpit #82.1
The gear lever completes the face plate of my MIP panel. I created a design that is really easy for you to build. The used micro switches are glued in place with hot glue so that you can place them where you need them depending on the type you are using.
The locking mechanism I realized doesn't match the real one accurat. It holds the handle in the down position when the plane is on ground. The real one seems to let you move the handle to the OFF position too. I will realize this in a later version.
Used materials:
- 3 mm transparent and white acrylic
- 1 6x6x8 mm tactile button
- 6 annunciators (3 red, 3 green)
- 4 15 mm male hex stand offs
- 4 30 mm female hex stand offs
- LED stripes for backlighting
- 3 mm HDF board for backlighting
- 3 ultra mini micro switches
- 2 mm brass rod
- 2 M6 45 mm Flat head screws
- 2 M6 self securing nuts
- 1 11 x 40,4 x 1 mm spring
- 1 10,8 x 35,5 x 0,8 mm spring
Hi, thank you for this advise but I search the files for the gear PANEL. My first try for the lever was not a success. I didn’t find exact same springs and the assembling of all these parts is tricky. I added holes at 90° in the lever for better access, but i used 26AWG silicone wires and these are finally blocking the thing. I’m printing your revised files for next try. I fixed my motor with screws and the mecanism works fine. Also, ich pack’s bald !
Hi,
I’m actually finishing to build the gear lever, but sadly don’t find where i could find the files for the gear panel, i don’t see anything in the mip archives and i’m stuck.
Actually the file can be found at the top of the download page.
