Engine & Oxygen Panel

Engine & Oxygen Panel - A Boeing 737-800 Homecockpit #61

Many well known technices can be used during the build of this panel. We have already built a single needle gauge and the annunciators. But you discover always something new or get the chance to improve something.

I found a new workflow to disign my panels in Fusion 360 and export all the cut files from there. And I designes a jig that can help me to glue my annunciators together so that the two parts are always aligned perfectly.

And a knew push button type had to be designed. This wasn't as difficult as supposed. I modeled all used components in Fusion and was able to test if everything fitted together before I started the first print. I can only recommend this way of designing a panel. Especially when you have many components that could collide with each other or your finished produkt has to fit in an exact opening.

Used materials:

  • 3mm transparent and white acrylic
  • 1 big ON-OFF switch
  • 2 12 mm push buttons
  • 1 black switch guard
  • 5 orange annunciators
  • 1 servo motor
  • gears 28 teeth and 13 teeth
  • 1 4 mm acrylic rod
  • 8 40 mm hex stand offs
  • 6 15 mm hex stand offs
  • 2 warm white LEDs
  • 2 orange LEDs
  • LED stripes for backlighting mounted on a HDF plate
  • 3mm HDF plate

The following file contains all the needed files to cut out and engrave your own panel as well as the 3D print file for the push button.
