MIP Center Panel - A Boeing 737-800 Homecockpit #79

The center panel was my eye opener for the configuration of stepper motors in MobiFlight. To come out with reproducible movements it isn't enough to configure just the positions of the motor. You even have to watch out for the speed and acceleration. Especially when it comes to many small movements these settings make the difference in reaching a defined position or not.

After some help from Sebastian from MobiFlight the two needles of the flaps gauge are finally running as they should. This showed that I wasn't too wrong with my designs and how good the support in the MobiFlight community is.

Beside of this I developed an easy to build mechanism for the autobrake switch. This switch has to be pulled against a force to be able to reach the maximum position.

Used materials:

  • 3 mm transparent and white acrylic
  • 1 big momentary (ON) - OFF - (ON) switch
  • 2 backlightable tactile buttons (6 x 6 mm)
  • 2 8-position rotary switches
  • 2 rotary encoders (10 mm shaft)
  • 2 15 mm male hex stand offs
  • 4 30 mm female hex stand offs
  • 4 annunciators (3 yellow, 1 green)
  • LED stripes for backlighting
  • 3 mm HDF board for backlighting
  • 1 Type 1 knobs
  • 2 upper and lower dual rotary encoder knobs
  • 2 28byj-48 stepper motor with ULN2003 driver
  • 2 ultra mini micro switches
  • 4 mm transparent acrylic rod
  • 6 mm hollow aluminum rod 30 mm

    Hello Mickey. I would like to know if in this module you will not make the settings with mobiflight.
