Pedestal

The pedestal box was made from 10 mm MDF. I used a paper template to mark and cut out the rounded edges. I didnt't install dividers or supports for the panels yet to make them exactly as I will need them when I know the measurements of the panels.

For the fire panel box I used 6 mm plywood. I installed wooden supports so that I could nail the parts together. The supports are placed 6 cm away from the top edge to have enough space to install the panels later.

To cover the rounded cut-outs I screwed a sheet of 0.5 mm aluminum onto the rounding using flat head screws. Predrilling is essential to prevent the MDF from splitting.

    Hi Mickey,

Did you install the dividers yet? I am curious what you used. My thought was to find some T-bars and then drill holes exactly where the panels would be placed. Dzus rails are quite expensive.

No, I haven’t done this yet. I will do this when I have made some panels for the pedestal. The T-bar soluion sounds good. Use 3 or 4mm Aluminum so you can tap a M4 thread to it.
